Joanne is a life long artist and has worked in oil , watercolor , and pastels since 2000. She studied art at St Catherines and the U of M. Her education also has included attending workshops from nationally recognized instructors including Grace Haverty, Sheila Reiman, Richard McKinley Steve Hill, Michael Chesley Johnson and Colette Odya Smith.
Believing that pastel is the perfect medium for plein air she has participated in the Port Wing plein air Festival almost from its inception and has travelled across the lake to attend Plein Air Grand Marais.
She is active in the Chequamegon Bay Arts Council and regularly exhibits in their shows.
Bates Art Barn in Bayfield represents her paintings and cards. She paints with a pastel group called “Blue View Pastel Group” which meets on Tuesday evenings at Karlyn’s Gallery in Washburn.
