All painting surfaces used during the Port Wing Plein Air Painting Festival must be stamped on the back for the event before you start painting. Stamping will be done by Festival personnel at the Port Wing Historical Museum during the morning meeting or by arrangement at any other time or place. Painting surfaces not stamped for the current festival can not be entered in the judging and are not eligible for awards. Painting surfaces where painting has begun will not be stamped (see #2 below). Surfaces for the Quick Paint event can only be stamped on the morning of the Quick Paint event.
2
All works of art must be produced 100% during the event. Exceptions to this rule might be for light canvas preparation, gesso application, paper stretching, solid color backgrounds, or similar treatment. Some ‘backgrounds’ have been disallowed. Please be reasonable.
3
You may enter up to 5 paintings done during the Plein Air Festival in the Exhibition and judging plus one Quick Paint piece if you participate in the Quick Paint event.
4
The maximum size for paintings is 16×20, unframed, and 23×27 framed.

You may bring additional paintings not created during the Port Wing Plein Air Painting Festival and display up to 6 at a time during the exhibition and sale on Saturday and Sunday. These works are not eligible for awards and will not be hung with works created during the event. There will be a separate area for works not created during the event. These items must also be original works painted by the Artist. These items may be removed at any time if purchased.
